PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact resistor superior in high power characteristics. SOLUTION: The resistor comprises a substrate 11, a pair of electrodes 12 provided at both ends of the substrate 1 and a resistor body 13 provided between the pair of electrodes 12. The body 13 is composed of rectangular parts 14 at both ends connected to the pair of electrodes 12 and a trimmed approximately S-shaped part 15 located between both the rectangular end parts 14. At least one of the rectangular both end parts 14 is partly trimmed off to make a portion of the S-shaped part 15 continuing the parts 14 narrower than the width of the S-shaped part 15.
