PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the driving-shaft cooling device of a fan in a heat treating furnace having facilitated maintenance, reduced costs, a small size and little water leakage. SOLUTION: This device is provided with: a fan 10 provided in a heat treating furnace 1; a motor 12 provided outside the heat treating furnace; a driving shaft 11 with one end 11a coupled with the fan and the other end 11b connected with a motor shaft 12a in order to drive the fan by the motor; a fan-side bearing 14, for bearing the center 11c of the driving shaft 11; and a motor-side bearing 15, for bearing the driving shaft on the motor side. The motor-side bearing is supported outside the furnace, and the fan-side bearing is supported in the vicinity of the furnace wall for arrangement. A cylindrical metal tube 17 having a slight gap 16 from the outer periphery 11d of the driving shaft, a cooling pipe 18 consisting of a seamless tube, arranged spirally in the outer periphery 17a of the metal tube, and having both ends 18a and 18b guided outside the furnace, and a thermal insulating material 19 for burying the metal tube and the cooling pipe, are provided between the fan and the fan-side bearing.
