PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leaked water detection method in which a leakage, in a sealing sheet can be detected easily and in which a leakage place can be specified with satisfactory accuracy by using a movable electrode by a method where the sealing sheet, a protective sand layer or the like is installed in a recessed place at a waste disposal site, a plurality of detecting electrodes are installed on the protective sand layer or the like, and a reference electrode is installed on the ground at the outside of a sealing part on which the sealing sheet has been laid. SOLUTION: The leaked water detection method comprises a step, in which the plurality of detecting electrodes 7 are arranged on the sealing sheet 5 laid on the sealing part 2, a step in which the reference electrode 8 is installed on the ground 1 for making a current flow and a step, in which currents flowing in the plurality of detecting electrodes 7 are summed up so as to detect the leakage in the sealing sheet 5.
