METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ICE STORAGE TANK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an ice storage tank capable of extracting water or brine at a temperature not higher than a specified temperature for a required time even if the working temperature is low. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the ice storage tank cools a heat medium by ice produced by freezing water in the ice storage tank and making ice grow. The method comprises the steps of receiving in the tank the heating medium for cooling cooled by a refrigeration machine and freezing water by the heating medium to make the ice grow; receiving a heated secondary side heating medium (water or brine) from an inlet of the tank; cooling the secondary heat medium by melting the ice which has grown and supplying the secondary side heat medium to the outside through an outlet of the tank and; interrupting cooling of the secondary side heat medium to make ice remain in the tank at an specified ice packing factor when the condition is satisfied that the ice packing factor(IPF) in the tank reaches a specified value during cooling of the secondary side heat medium.
