PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix type display device which can suppress deterioration of EMI due to an increase in input signal frequency to a data driver. SOLUTION: This display device scans gate lines on every other line so that they turn ON for a period twice as long as a horizontal period. Further, signals corresponding to the gate lines which turn ON are extracted from a display data signal and outputted to the data driver in cycles which are twice as long as the horizontal period. This display device can, therefore, make the period wherein the same gate line turns ON and the cycle wherein the display data signal is supplied to data lines double as long as usual. Consequently, this display device can increase input cycles of the display data signal to the data driver double. Consequently, the increase in the input signal frequency of the display data signal can be suppressed, so the deterioration of EMI accompanying it can be prevented.
