PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a chassis of a flat panel display device as the lightweight and highly rigid chassis which makes a display panel, circuit board, optical filter, etc., respectively removable in the state of installing the flat panel display device and facilitates maintenance work. SOLUTION: The chassis consists a chassis body 2a which opens a front 2a1, is opened with flanks 2a2, is molded to grasp the display panel 1 from above and below and is commonly used a back cover and flank covers 2b which close the flank apertures 2a2 of the chassis body 2a. The chassis is insertionally fitted with the optical filter 4, etc., by insertion through the flank apertures 2a2 of the chassis body 2a.
