METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LACTIC ACID USING PYROLIGNEOUS SACCHARIFIED SOLUTION

PURPOSE: Provided is a biotechnical method for manufacturing lactic acid using a pyroligneous saccharified solution as a carbon source economically. Therefore, lactic acid can be manufactured with a similar production yield to when purified glucose is used as a carbon source. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing lactic acid is characterized by the steps of: inoculating microbes into a fermentation medium containing a pyroligneous saccharified solution as a carbon source; and fermenting the medium, wherein the pyroligneous saccharified solution is obtained by converting cellulose into glucose by pretreating a wood physically or chemically then treating it with cellulase or beta-glucosidase; the medium further contains a yeast extract, corn leachate, or their mixture as a nitrogen source.
