PURPOSE: An apparatus for maintaining the ascent state of upper rolls of a hot leveling machine is provided which is capable of maintaining the ascent state of the upper rolls using safety pin and props when ascending the upper rolls to maintain and repair upper and lower rolls of the hot leveling machine. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for maintaining the ascent state of upper rolls by ascending an upper roll support frame(120) for supporting the upper rolls(110) of a hot leveling machine, inserting a pin into pin inserting holes formed on the upper roll support frame(120) and supporters(102,122) of a main body(100) of the hot leveling machine and positioning props(50) at certain positions between the upper rolls(110) and lower rolls(140), the apparatus for maintaining the ascent state of the upper rolls of the hot leveling machine is characterized in that extension elements having floodlight holes(12,22) are formed on the supporters(102,122), an optical sensor is installed to sense whether the center of the floodlight holes(12,22) is corresponded or not, a pin(130) is mounted on the supporters(102,122) so that the pin(130) is inserted into the pin inserting holes of the supporters(102,122), and the props(50) are moved between the upper and lower rolls(110,140) by cylinders(80) installed at one side of the main body(100).
