2-Heteroaryl-2H-pyrazole-3,4-diamines (I) are new. 2-Heteroaryl-2H-pyrazole-3,4-diamines of formula (I) and their acid addition salts are new. Ar = 5- or 6-membered heteroaryl optionally fused with one or more 5- or 6-membered aromatic or heteroaromatic rings. Independent claims are also included for: (1) an oxidation dye composition for dyeing keratinic fibers, comprising at least one developer of formula (I); (2) a method for dyeing keratinic fibers, comprising applying the composition of (1) and allowing the color to develop, either in air or with the aid of an oxidizing agent, optionally in the presence of oxidation catalysts; (3) a kit comprising the composition of (1) in one compartment and an oxidizing composition in another compartment.
