PROTEIN VARIANTS OF NEOCARZINOSTATINE AND ITS HOMOLOGUES AND THEIR USE

The invention concerns a protein variant of neocarzinostatine (NCS) or of one of its homologues selected among the group consisting of macromomycin, actinoxantin, kedarcidin and C-1027 protein, whereof the amino acid sequence exhibits one or several mutations relative to the natural protein sequence of NCS or of one of said homologues, said protein variant being capable of specifically fixing a molecule of interest other than the natural ligands of neocarzinostatine or of said homologues. The invention also concerns the use of said protein variants and a method for identifying a mutated sequence of neocarzinostatine or of one of its homologues selected among the group consisting of macromycin, actinoxantin, kedarcidin and C-1027 protein capable of specifically fixing a molecule of interest.
