The waistcoat consists of a rigid thorax casing (1) to which is linked two rigid arm-cases (2) with hand-rests (2a) possessing inner pads(6).. The upper part of the thorax casing has two shoulder straps (3) joined to a connecting element (4). The end of each shoulder strap has a belt (5) leading under the shoulders (2b) of the thorax casing and joined to the fastenings (7) on the reverse side of the thorax casing. At least two stomach-belts (8) are attached to the fastenings. A padded support (6a) supports the lumbar vertebrae.
