APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING POSITION OF SATELLITE BROADCASTING ANTENNA AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling a position of a satellite broadcasting antenna and a method for driving the same are provided to change automatically elevation and azimuth of the satellite broadcasting antenna by operating a menu map function for displaying a satellite broadcasting signal. CONSTITUTION: A memory portion(108) stores position data of one or more satellite broadcasting satellites. A control portion(100) reads position data of a selected broadcasting satellite from the memory portion(108) by using an antenna direction setup mode of a display portion(102) and outputs a control signal for controlling a direction and an angle of a satellite broadcasting antenna(120) by using the position data. A motor driving portion(106) receives the control signal from the control portion(100) and outputs driving signals for driving a horizontal position control motor(110a) and a vertical position control motor(110b). A comparison portion(140) compares direction/angle conversion signals received from a data detection portion(130) with the direction/angle data of the satellite broadcasting antenna(120) and outputs a driving signal to the control portion(100) according to a compared result.
