A scintillator unit (12) has scintillator arrays (24, 28) consisting of scintillator cells (24s) each having a first fluorescence attenuation time constant and second scintillator arrays (26, 30) consisting of scintillator cells (26s) each having second fluorescence attenuation time constant different from the first time constant, the center position of each cell in the scintillator arrays (28, 30) is deflected from the center position of each cell in the scintillator array (24, 26) in a direction parallel to the light receiving surface of a light receiving element (14), and the cells are laminated according to the above arrangement. A position detector that discriminates the waveforms of detection signals from the element (14) for each different fluorescence attenuation time constant specifies a radiation−photo−converted scintillator cell.
