PURPOSE: A language learning apparatus and method using a voice recognition and a method thereof are provided to exactly evaluate a learner's pronunciation and correct the learner's pronunciation similar to an original pronunciation. CONSTITUTION: A data storage section(10) stores data of voices, sentences, words, and numbers. A voice input section(12) inputs a learner's voice according to the voice data stored in the data storage section(10). A/D and D/A converters(16,18) converts and outputs voice data of the voice input section(12) and the data storage section(10). A central processing unit(20) compares the learner's voice signal with voice data stored in the data storage section(10) and outputs the compared result. The learner optionally selects a learning by using the learning mode selector(22). Number input sections(24,26) input words and numbers corresponding to all kinds of information. A hint input section(28) suggestively provides word information. A memory(30) stores information learned according to a selection of the learning mode selector(22). An LCD(32) displays the data and information stored in the data storage section(10) and the memory(30) and the compared result from the central processing unit(20).
