PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing an overload of a motor is provided to prevent damage of the motor by intercepting the rotary power of the motor when a rotating target is not rotated. CONSTITUTION: The first coupling(2) is installed at a driving shaft(1a) in order to transmit rotary power of a motor(1). The second coupling is installed at an output shaft(4) which is operated by the driving shaft(1a). A power transmission portion(10) transmits the rotary power of the motor(1) from the first coupling(2) to the second coupling(3). An insertion groove(21) of predetermined depth is formed at a front end portion of the first coupling(2). The power transmission portion(10) includes an elastic member(11) inserted into the insertion groove(21) and a ball(12) loaded on the elastic member(11). A ball insertion groove(31) is formed at a contact portion between the second coupling(3) and the first coupling(2). A ring(13) is installed in an entrance of the insertion groove(21).
