A clamp can be normally fitted with a pressure plate which can be used on plane areas, but which is useless when the clamp has to be used to keep a piece pressed into an inner or around an outer corner area. The new design of a pressure plate (1) for a clamping device can be temporarily fitted with an upper part (4) exactly matching the shape of the space inside a corner or with a recess for the accommodation of the corner when the part has to be attached around the outside. There is also a version with short extensions protruding from the plate for being pressed into a soft material.
