PURPOSE: A thin optical pickup device is provided to lower the height of the optical pickup by simply changing the position of a light source or an optical detector by shifting an optical axis with an optical flat plate. CONSTITUTION: A thin optical pickup device includes a light source(31), an objective lens(39) condensing a light projected from the light source at a recording medium(41), an optical element(33) arranged on an optical path between the light source and the objective lens to convert the light projected from the light source to a collimation, an optical axis moving element(35) arranged on the optical path between the optical element and the objective lens to shift an optical axis of the collimation passing through the optical element in a row, a reflective mirror(37) arranged on an optical path between the optical axis moving element and the objective lens to proceed toward the recording medium, and an optical detector receiving the light reflected from the recording medium and passing through the optical axis moving element.
