PURPOSE: A fire extinguishing agent is provided which has rapid extinguishing property, and excellent flame resistibility and stability for a diluent, compared with conventional fire extinguishing agents. CONSTITUTION: A fire extinguishing agent comprises cation polyamine polymers(A) having first, second and third grade cation groups, wherein the amount of the first grade cation group is 40 wt.% or less to the total cation groups; an anion hydrophilic group containing surfactant(B) may be optionally added into the fire extinguishing agent; polybasic acid(C) may be optionally added into the fire extinguishing agent; the cation polyamine polymer(A) contains 35 wt.% or more of the second grade cation group to the total cation groups; the cation polyamine polymer(A) is polyethylene imine or derivatives thereof; the polybasic acid(C) is C4-C18 2 basic acid; the anion hydrophilic group-containing surfactant(B) is a C3-C20 fluorinated aliphatic group-containing surfactant.
