PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for limiting the use of a mobile communication terminal using a fingerprint are provided to prevent the copy of the mobile communication terminal and prevent the unlawful use of other person when losing the mobile communication terminal by approving a telephone call to only a user authenticated from a base station and performing a normal telephone call. CONSTITUTION: A data receiving unit(40) receives data transmitted from a mobile communication terminal. A fingerprint recognition database(60) stores fingerprint recognition data for performing a user authentication. A fingerprint inquiring unit(50) compares fingerprint recognition data received through the data receiving unit(40) with the fingerprint recognition data stored in the fingerprint recognition database(60), and determines whether a telephone call is approved. A call setup unit(70) performs a call setup when the telephone call is approved.
