The method involves welding the pipes and pipe ends together. A flat area is pressed into a pipe (1) in a support (2) using a device acting on the pipe perpendicularly to its outer surface. The size of the flat area corresponds to the external diameter of a pipe (3) to be welded on. Openings are made for the pipe to be welded on, which is lowered onto the surface and welded. AN Independent claim is also included for a pipe, especially extruded sprinkler pipes.
