The device has electrodes (101) moving with or isolated from the closure element (100). Fixed electrodes (102) separate from the movable electrode and are mounted on the valve or injector body with insulation and/or on an electrode bearers (103). The electrodes are electrically conducting foils with about 0.5 mm. thick or less. The fixed electrodes are connected to a measurement arrangement for measuring the electrode pair capacitance.
