PURPOSE: Provided is a fire retardant thermoplastic resin composition which has good fire retardancy irrespective of the kind of a resin by using en epoxy resin having a good char generating property together with a phosphorus-based compound. CONSTITUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin; 0.1-50 parts by weight of an epoxy derivative represented by the formula 1; 1-50 parts by weight of a phosphorus-based compound; and optionally 0-50 parts by weight of at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a dropping preventer, a plasticizer, a heat stabilizer, an antioxidizing agent, a photo stabilizer, a compatibilizer, a pigment and/or dye and an inorganic additive. In formula 1, X is an alkyl group of C1-C34, an aryl group, an aryl group substituted with an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, or an O, N, P or S-containing alkyl, aryl or aryl group substituted with an alkyl group.
