1,019,430. Gun mountings. KELLER & KNAPPICH G.m.b.H. Dec. 30, 1964 [Jan. 14, 1964], No. 52806/64. Heading F3C. A mounting for quick-firing guns on armoured vehicles comprises a rotatable platform 2 supporting the trunnion plates 3 outside the armoured interior of the vehicle, the gun 5 enclosed by an armoured housing being mounted between the plates by means of trunnion bearings 7 so as to be vertically pivot. The armoured housing closely surrounds and supports the gun in a cradle, the trunnion bearings extending from the housing being of open-ended hollow construction to allow ammunition to be fed therethrough to the gun. The plates 3 are arranged to cover the open end of the bearings 7 whilst maintaining sufficient space to permit passage of ammunition from below the rotatable platform to the hollow bearings. The ammunition is fed by guide members 6 from a box 18 mounted below an upright 14 on which are mounted the elevating gear 10, 11, the training gear 12, 13, the sighting device 21, 20, and a seat 15, 16 and foot rest 17 for the gunner. |
