The invention relates to a fire-proof door for a passage, comprising a door leaf with two door leaf surfaces and one door closing device, whereby the door leaf can be closingly displaced from a door leaf receiving area to the passage by means of said door closing device, whereby at least one door leaf surface is covered by an expanding material which when affected by flames or temperature becomes an insulating material. The material can also be expanded by water. Said door leaf can be made from various materials, especially woven fabric material which forms a sort of curtain wall as a fire-proof door. In the unexpanded state, the material is only applied to a thin layer to the door leaf, whereby the layer can expand to many times the original thickness thereof after expansion. |
