Collecting box (14) comprises several tubes through which an inner heat exchange medium flows. The tubes are arranged in rows in the flow direction of an outer heat exchange medium with at least one tube end opening into the box. The box has lids which are bent at right angles to its longitudinal extension. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the collecting box. Preferred Features: The lids are molded to the base (1) of the box. One of the lids has one or more openings for connecting tubes. One of the openings, especially the outlet opening, is has an oval shape.
