The airbag cover has an outlet(8) for an airbag and in this area the free ends of a reinforcing fabric(9) attached to the facing layer pass through openings(10) in the carrier layer-supporting tool half. A seal(13) surrounds each opening and seals the latter when foaming occurs between facing(4) and carrier(5) layers located respectively in each half of the tool. An Independent claim is made for a process for manufacturing an air bag cover in which, after placing the facing layer(4) and carrier layer(5) in their respective tool halves and after passing the free ends of the reinforcing fabric(9) through the opening in the carrier layer supporting tool half(3), a seal is inflated around the opening. Foam is then introduced between the facing and carrier layers.
