Electroluminescent foil serves as a self-luminous sign in a car wash facility, and has several luminous fields each of which is of a different color during supply of current. The foil in its luminous state, has a color which differs from its color when the foil is specifically not luminous. The surface of the foil is specifically provided with a transparent protective layer or protective foil.
