PURPOSE: A filter for water purification is provided which improves filtration efficiency and extend life cycle of the filter by removing foreign materials from water in the process that water is passing through from the outer side to the inner side of porous filtering pipes. CONSTITUTION: In a filter for water purification comprising an inlet(12) into which water to be purified is flown, and which is installed at one side of a filter housing(11), and an outlet(13) from which purified water is flown, and which is installed at the other side of the filter housing(11), the filter is characterized in that separation plates(14,15) are installed at both sides inside the filter housing(11), a plurality of porous filtering pipes(21,22,23) are concentrically arranged between the separation plates(14,15), an inlet hole(14a) which is connected to the outer side of the outermost filtering pipe(21) is formed at the separation plate(14) at the side of the inlet(12), an outlet hole(15a) which is connected to the inner side of the innermost filtering pipe(23) is formed at the separation plate(15) at the side of the outlet(13), and a foreign material removing pipe(16) which is connected to a space between the inner side of the innermost filtering pipe(23) and the inner side of the filtering pipe(22) next to the innermost filtering pipe(23) is installed at one side of the filter housing(11).
