PURPOSE: Provided are an installer and a remover for a sub sleeve-shaped probe which place a sub sleeve, which is disposed easily, at a weak part of a sub-lance so that they help to eliminate the adhered base metal. CONSTITUTION: In the installer and the remover for the sub sleeve-shaped probe which include a cylindrical sub sleeve(10) to surround an outer probe(14) connected to a holder(12) of the sub-lance(4), the installer and the remover for the sub sleeve-shaped probe are characterized by elevating the sub-lance and removing the sub sleeve, in which slag and molten steel scattered by splash are adhered in measuring temperature, to eliminate the adhered base metal from the sub-lance in the wake of measuring temperature.
