PURPOSE: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display device is provided to minimize the in-plane electric fields formed on the edges of pixel electrodes by overlapping between gate lines and pixel electrodes of neighboring pixel lines. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display device includes an insulating substrate, traverse gate wires having gate lines(22) for transmitting scanning signals and gate electrodes(26) connected to the gate lines, capacitance lines(28) traversely formed on the insulating substrate, a semiconductor layer formed overlapping the gate electrodes, data wires having data lines(62) intersecting the gate lines and the capacitance lines, source electrodes(65) connected to the data lines and formed on the semiconductor layer and drain electrodes(66) facing the source electrodes with respect to the gate electrodes, and pixel electrodes(921) completely overlapping neighboring gate lines.
