PURPOSE: A gear level sensor of a vehicle is provided to easily sense the present gear level without examining with the naked eye by mounting a gear level-sensing unit on a gear-shifting knob. CONSTITUTION: A gear level sensor of a vehicle comprises gear level-sensing units(14) and power-applying units(16). The gear level-sensing unit comprises plural protrusions to be protruded upward on a gear-shifting knob(10b) to let a driver know the present gear level through the sense of touch when shifting gears. The power-applying unit applies working power supply to the protrusion of the appropriate gear level-sensing unit among the gear level-sensing units in shifting gears. The gear level-sensing unit comprises a supporting bar fixed into the gear-shifting knob, a wire made of shape memory alloy, and a first connection point applying power to the wire. Therefore, the present gear level is easily sensed without seeing with the naked eye.
