<p>The invention concerns a method and a device for forming a wooden slat or lath or of a fibrous material similar to wood, and the use of the resulting slats for making packages, in particular for making crates, baskets or trays for storage, sale and transport of food products such as fruits or vegetables and the like. The technical field of the invention is the manufacture of wooden crates for packaging food or non food products. The invention is characterised in that the method for forming a slat (1, 60, 101) comprises a folding operation along a folding line (2, 25, 26, 61 to 63), producing a plurality of deformations (9, 10, 28, 29) of the slat along said line, prior to folding, by deflecting the fibres (5) of the slat.</p> |
