LOUPE HINGE FOR MAGNIFICATION VIEWER

A magnification viewer (25a) includes magnification loupes (206a, 206b), which may be attached to the bridge (259) of a pair of spectacles (200) by a hinge/bridge mount (15). A main hinge tab (11) is pivotally connected to mount (15), whereby the magnification loupes (206a, 206b) may be raised and lowered from the field of vision in front of the spectacles (200) as desired. A hinge tab saddle (12) slidably mounted to the main hinge tab (11) permits adjustment of the loupes (206a, 206b) along the longitudinal length of the main hinge tab (11) to thereby adjust the distance between the lenses (202a, 202b) of the spectacles (200) and the loupes (206a, 206b). Loupes (206a, 206b) are suspended by pylons (60) from a pair of loupe mount bars (23a, 23b) and are pivotally adjustable about axes through the pylons (60) to vary the convergence angle of the pair of loupes (206a, 206b). Mount bars (23a, 23b) are adjustable via a thumbscrew (22) attached to the hinge tab saddle (12), whereby the lateral spacing of the loupes (206a, 206b) may be varied to thereby accommodate a range of interpupillary distances. Magnification viewer (25) may further include a light mount adapter (24) provided on hinge tab saddle (12) for attaching a light (26). A pivotal attachment between light mount adapter (24) and light (26) permits adjustment of light (26) to illuminate a desired area within the field of vision of magnification viewer (25).
