PURPOSE: A hydraulic TGS(Transmission Gear System) lever control system and a method thereof are provided to offer convenience to a driver by applying the function of a power steering wheel to the TGS lever of a manual transmission. CONSTITUTION: An angle sensor(2) detects the shifting angle of a TGS lever(1). A vehicle speed and engine rpm detecting unit(3) detects a vehicle speed and an engine rpm. An electronic control unit(4) determines how to drive a hydraulic cylinder(6) for controlling the rotation of a control shaft by comparing the TGS angle and the output signal of the vehicle speed and engine rpm detecting unit. A hydraulic motor(5) selectively operate two hydraulic cylinders installed at both sides of the control shaft by operating with response to the output signal of the electronic control unit. The hydraulic cylinders directly control the rotational frequency of the control shaft by operating with response to the pressure of the fluid supplied from the hydraulic motor.
