SUSTAINED-RELEASE LOCALLY ADMINISTRABLE ANTICANCER PREPARATION FOR TREATMENT OF BRAIN TUMOR

PURPOSE: A sustained release anticancer agent containing a biodegradable polymer and water-soluble synthetic polymer including an nitrosourea-based anticancer agent is provided which can be locally administrated into the tumor or a tumor-removed portion in the shape of a disk, film or rod. CONSTITUTION: The anticancer preparation contains a nitrosourea-based anticancer agent and a biodegradable polymer, wherein 0.01 to 40% by weight of the nitrosourea-based anticancer agent is included by 60 to 99.99% by weight of the biodegradable and water-soluble synthetic polymer and the water-soluble polymer is contained in the range of 1 to 50% by weight, based on the biodegradable polymer. The biodegradable polymer has an average molecular weight of 5,000 to 1,000,000 and is selected from polylactide, polyglycolide, a lactide-glycolide polymer, polyhydroxy butyric acid, polycaprolactone and polyalkylcyanoacrylate.
