<p>Piezoelectric ceramics consisting of solid solns. from the quat. system (Ag1/2Bi)TiO3-(Ag1/2Bi1/2)ZrO3-PbTiO3-PbZrO3 in which is not >25% of Pb may be replaced by Ca, Sr or Ba. In particular compsns. within the area ABCDEFG defined by the parameters alpha, beta so that for A alpha = 0.01, beta = 0.55; B alpha = 0.01, beta = 0.10; C alpha = 0.05, beta = 0.05; D alpha = 0.10, beta = 0.05; E alpha = 0.20, beta = 0.30; F alpha = 0.20, beta = 0.70; G alpha = 0.10, beta = 0.70; H alpha = 0.05, beta = 0.70 where alpha = t/((t+v) = u/(u+w) and beta = t/(t+tu) = v/(v+w) from the general formula (Ag1/2Bi1/2)TiO3 t (Ag1/2Bi1/2)TiO3 u PbTiO3 v PbZrO3 w. The materials have high electrochemical coupling factors and are used for ultrasonic transducers.</p> |
