A filter comprises a filter cartridge (161) and a housing (160) defining a chamber. The filter cartridge (161) is disposed in the chamber and a keying mechanism is cooperatively arranged with the housing and the filter cartridges to centre the filter cartridges in the filter cartridge chamber. In addition, the housing (160) includes a bowl (162) which has a bottom wall and a side wall, a head (163), an let (15a) and outlet (15b) and a vent (15c). The inlet (15a), the outlet (15b) and the vent (15c) are formed in the head (163) of the housing (160). The filtration cartridge (161) includes a blind end cap at a lower end of the filter cartridge (161) which has a bottom surface inclines upwardly towards a flow channel. The bottom of the bowl (162) has an interior surface that inclines upwardly towards the flow channel and a bottom surface of the lower end cap (163) and the interior surface of the bottom of the bowl (162) are closely fitted to one another, keying the filter cartridge (161) within the housing (160).
