Floating caliper disk brake for a motor vehicle comprises a brake holder (2) fixed to the vehicle and axially surrounding with two holding arms (5) a brake disk (6), a floating caliper (3) movably positioned on the brake holder, and a spring (12) removably fixed on the floating caliper for rattle-free bracing of the floating caliper and the brake holder and movably lying with at least one section (16) on the brake holder. Exactly one spring is supported relative to the brake disk axis on the brake holder and the floating caliper in the tangential (11) and the radial direction (10). Preferred Features: The spring is supported tangentially in both directions on the floating caliper.
