PURPOSE: An elevator door controlling method is provided to deal with error state when a foreign material is inserted in the door or other incidents. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a door of an elevator is composed of a step to generate an overload sensing signal when there is no position change in a predetermined time by a close directive. If the overload sensing signal is generated over a couple of times, a forced closing mode is carried out. A buzzer is sounded in the forced closing mode.If a complete closing or opening of the elevator door is not sensed, a door disorder is alarmed and the elevator is stopped.
