SCREENING METHODS FOR INHIBITORS OF AN ACRAB AND AN ACRAB-LIKE EFFLUX PUMP

The instant methods and compositions represent an advance in controlling drug resistance in microbes. AcrAB-like efflux pumps have been found to control resistance in drugs, even in highly resistant microbes. Accordingly, the use of the inhibitors for the treating of infections or enhancing the antimicrobial activity of drugs are provided, along with compositions comprising the inhibitors, optionally in combination with an antimicrobial agent.
