The harness, comprising two self-adjusting thigh straps and a hip belt, has the latter made so that it can be adjusted but not fully opened. The two ends of the hip belt are connected by a bridge (15) by which the harness and wearer can be suspended, and by an adjuster (11) in the form of strap (12) that is passed through a ring and folded back on itself to be fastened by strips of hook and loop fabric (13, 14).
