PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily eliminate disadvantage in an enclosed item guiding means of an envelope enclosing machine, in which an opening segment is scraped up at an insert extremity end more than that required in response to a state of opening of an envelope and the like. SOLUTION: An insert means (an enclosed item guide means) 20 is comprised of a pair of horizontal supporting members 10, 10 spaced apart in a widthwise direction of an envelope 1; insert supporting members 12, 12 having insert items 11, 11 in a downward direction fixed at their lower surfaces; a driving shaft 15 pivotally attached to the horizontal supporting members; a turning shaft 16 pivotally attached to the horizontal supporting members below it; front link members 13, 13 having their upper ends fixed to both ends of the driving shaft and their lower ends pivotally attached to both ends of the turning shaft; and rear link members 14, 14 having their upper ends pivotally attached to the horizontal supporting members and having their lower ends pivotally attached to the insert supporting members. Means for changing a scraping amount at an extremity end of the insert is constituted in such a way that a fixing position of the rear link member 14 in respect to the horizontal supporting member 10 can be changed by a fixing means 30 in its vertical direction.
