PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-grade bound book by which a magnetic material is efficiently assembled into a concealed part. SOLUTION: In a high-grade bound book manufacturing process comprising steps such as gathering, binding with thread, smoothing, die clamping, sealing and finish cutting, rounding-off/edging, spine setting and cover wrapping, a magnetic material consisting of a first magnetic member having a high magnetic permeability and a low retaining force and a second magnetic member having a moderate magnetic permeability and a high retaining force is pinched by a sheet-like material into a sealed shape and applied to the spine of the contents rounded off and edged, after the rounding-off and edging process. In addition, in the spine setting step, the magnetic material is laminated on either of a cold gauze, creased paper or a landowner certificate paper to be bonded to the spine of the contents with an applied adhesive.
