PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which liquid existing in the head body can be discharged easily. SOLUTION: A recording head 1 comprises a head body 10 provided with a nozzle for ejecting an ink drop, and a head holder 11 being fixed with the head body 10 and mounted with an ink cartridge 2 wherein a channel for introducing ink in the ink cartridge 2 mounted on the head holder 11 to the head body 10 is provided a valve 20 for interconnecting the channel and the atmosphere so that liquid existing in the head body 10 can be discharged easily. Consequently, the quantity of ink being consumed in the initial filling can be reduced by discharging the liquid filling the head body 10 at the time of first use, and the effect of original ink can be removed as quickly as possible by discharging ink remaining in the head body 10 at the time of changing the kind of ink. |
