PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine for supplying a proper amount of a bactericidal component to a washing tub in response to water temperature and air temperature. SOLUTION: The machine is provided with a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of water to be supplied into the washing tub 6 and a dissolution tub 32 in the right part of a laundry entrance in a top cover 3. A chemicals vessel is arranged in the dissolution tub 32. A bactericidal agent is stored in the chemicals vessel and its component discharged from the agent is supplied to the washing tub 6 together with water by supplying water. A controller 48 is constituted to perform various washing courses by supplying a prescribed amount of the bactericidal agent from the dissolution tub 32 into the washing tub 6 and also constituted not to supply bactericidal water into the washing tub 6 when the detection temperature of the temperature sensor is lower than 0 deg.C or higher than 40 deg.C.
