PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a novel lens for eyes which can reduce or eliminate defective molding caused by the polymerization contraction of the lens which is generated when the lens is molded from a polymerizable monomer. SOLUTION: In polymerization molding, by forming a relative temperature difference between a molding mold comprising a female mold 12 and a male mold 14 and the polymerizable monomer 42 for forming the lens for eyes in a molding cavity 16 formed between the mold mating faces of the female and male molds 12 and 14, during the time from the closure of the molding cavity 16 filled with the monomer 42 to the end of the polymerization of the monomer 42, the temperature of the molding mold 10 is decreased and/or the temperature of the monomer 42 is increased so that the defective molding caused by the polymerization contraction of the monomer 42 is reduced. |
