PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well solidify the coolant-containing grinding sludge produced in a grinding line of hardened parts even if the factors affecting compression change. SOLUTION: This apparatus has a pressing section 12 for pressurizing and solidifying the thickened sludge within a compression chamber and pressing section control means 13 for controlling this pressing section 12. The pressing section control means 13 has factor and compression speed setting means 26, factor measuring means 28 and pressurizing speed control means 27. The factor and compression speed setting means 26 is means for setting the relation between the prescribed factors affecting the compression by the pressing section 12 and the compression speed of the pressing section 12. The prescribed factors are a coolant temperature, air temperature or a coolant content, etc. The factor measuring means 28 is means for measuring the prescribed factors described above. The pressurizing speed measuring means 27 controls the compression speed of the pressing section 12 in accordance with the setting contents of the factor and compression speed setting means 26 in accordance with the results of the measurement by the factor measuring means 26.
