PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a collision with a gantry device by erroneous operation of an operator by changing the lower limit height of a top plate by a kind of structure connected to the top plate of a carrying device. SOLUTION: A connecting port 26a for connecting various holders is arranged on the tip of the top plate 26 of the carrying device 300 in this X-ray CT system. A window 26b is arranged for peeping into a part of a tip bottom surface of a projecting part of the holders at connecting time. The carrying device 300 is provided with a sensor 305 for optically detecting the projecting part tip bottom surface of the holders connected via the window 26b when the top plate 26 is put in the most retracted state. Since there is the necessity of changing the lower limit height of the top plate only on a coronal head holder, a member having high reflectance is arranged only on the projecting part tip bottom surface of the coronal head holder, and thus, the lower limit height of the top plate 26 is switched on the basis of a detecting result by detecting whether or not the coronal head holder is connected.
