CUTTING TOOL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION SYSTEM AND CUTTING TOOL DESIGN METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation system for a cutting tool and a design method therefor capable of taking in user's needs accurately and efficiently in the design of the cutting tool. SOLUTION: The information of a tool model presented by a model provider is registered in tool design information database. A user extracts the information of tool model from the tool design information database to predict the results of performance items by simulating a chip generation process when using the tool model based on the information and cutting conditions set by the user. The results of prediction are stored in calculation result database. The user registers the results of evaluation for the results of prediction extracted from the calculation result database in evaluation information database to collect user's results of evaluation. The model provider changes the information of tool model based on the results of collection to add the tool model after the change to the tool design information database.
