PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for anaerobically treating fat and oil having excellent treating efficiency. SOLUTION: In order to biologically decompose fat and oil, liquid fat and oil are separated from waste containing the fat and oil separated from waste water. Organic waste slurry of high concentration is charged to the separated liquid fats and oil as a dispersant of fat and oil and as a nutriment for anaerobic microorganisms and the liquid fat and oil is blended with the organic waste slurry to produce dispersion of fat and oil mixed slurry. The dispersion of fat and oil mixed slurry is supplied into a methane fermentation tank 14 and the fat and oil in the slurry are decomposed by the anaerobic microorganims in the methane fermentation tank 14 and are converted to digested gas containing methane gas.
